PROM

Hey everyone! I know it's been so long since I've posted, sorry :(, but I've been really busy and stressed and just couldn't think of anything good to post. Lame excuse. But anyways here I am with a new post! It's all about prom. My prom is May 13th, but I know some proms are even earlier. So I want to post some pictures of dresses that I think will be really "in" this prom season. Just so you know, all the dresses I'm going to show are all from promgirl.com. At the end, I'll show you mine :)

number one is an open back dress. these dresses are revealing, obviously, so if you're worried about showing too much, this isn't the right dress for you. at the same time, these dresses are really pretty and look great with up-dos. here's one example:number two is prints. print dresses are always a good option because they're always "in". if you're interested in purchasing a printed dress, be sure to try lots of different prints on. if you're on the short side, smaller prints will probably look more flattering because large prints may make you look even shorter. if you're taller, the opposite goes for you because you don't want people to be overwhelmed by the print! here's one example of a print dress that would look flattering on anyone:number three is a one shoulder dress. these are a great option if you like the look of strapless, but are worried about it falling down while you're dancing, or if you have broad shoulders and strapless isn't the most flattering on you. I almost bought this one shoulder dress:
number four is animal prints! this one is exciting because I love animal prints (but I can't really pull them off, shhh!) animal prints can be subtle, loud, even colored. just remember, keep the accessories to a minimum, because the dress will be the main attraction. here's one example:the last one is sparkles. I think this one is my favorite haha. sparkles can be gorgeous. they're going to catch the light when you move and really make you shine! (pun intended) be really careful with sparkles though; too much will make you look ridiculous. here's my favorite example:
and here's my dress! my friend tried it on and loved it, but it's $400 and she couldn't convince her mom to buy it. so since I just hadn't found a dress that I really wanted, I decided to split it with her. her prom is at the end of april, and mine is in may, so we can both wear it. luckily her prom is first because I'm shorter than she is and this allows me to hem it to my height without it being too short for her! we've decided to sell it on ebay after we're done with it. anyways here it is!
I'm thinking about wearing some gold, long chain earrings and I've already bought my shoes from DSW for around $35! they're just plain gold but with a long dress, people aren't really going to pay attention to your shoes. plus, everyone ends up taking their shoes off at the dance anyways. I'll probably do I separate post with my whole outfit and hair/makeup ideas later. also, you might have noticed that the model in most of the dresses is the same girl, and that's because most of the dresses I showed you are from La Femme. I think they're my favorite dress designer (I wore them last year, too), but they can be pretty pricey.

I hope this helped you guys think of some ideas for your prom. Let me know what style you'll be wearing this year!
